He has recorded and produced a wide range of music, predominantly in his own studio, ranging from jazz, rock and funk to folk, world music, electronic music and EDM.

Music Production 

 
In 1988 he built Wytherston Studio in a beautiful barn in Dorset and embarked on a very creative period producing many artists, media projects and library albums, setting up and producing Big Life Library. Along with Paulyn DeFresnes, he founded the label Isis Records, featuring the artists Show of Hands, Matheran and Frank Perry. 
 
1999 brought a move to Spain on an olive farm where Mike worked on a mix of library and TV projects and on return to the UK he set up Sail Loft Studio in Wivenhoe Essex. The present studio is in Mike’s home and specializes in Jazz, folk, World music, library and media projects such as the major new meditation app - Freemind Meditation with Tom Fortes-Mayer - https://freemindhub.com/about/. 
 
The Freemind Meditation App is now available on the App Store and Google Play. 

Film & TV 

 
These include, Okavango, Lions of the African Night, Costa Rica Rainforest (CINDY award best soundtrack) and Etosha: Place of Dry Water (1982 Wildscreen Golden Panda Award), with Director, David Hughes and in 1988 Universal Pictures film Missing Link, starring Michael Gambon and Peter Elliot. As a solo composer - Desert Shores of Cortez, Marty Stouffer’s Beaver Pond and Kilimanjaro. 
 
Mike also worked on many TV shows, including Baby Father, Game Over – Kasperov and the Machine, Ancient Egyptians and Prime Suspect 6 (all with the composer Rob Lane), Secret History – Deep Sleep, Channel 4 weather, and numerous library titles for publishers Universal, Sonoton, Bruton, Chapell, DeWolfe, Boost and Zone. 

Theatre & Events 

 
He created sound design and electronic incidental music for Ken Campbell’s hugely successful Illuminatus! Starring Jim Broadbent and Bill Nighy. This took Mike to Amsterdam and eventually to the National Theatre, for a sellout season and opening of The Cotesloe Theatre. 
 
While in London Mike composed music for various dance and theatre companies, notably Paddy Fletcher’s Incubus and several corporate events such as the rebranding of Trust House Forte as RF Hotels.
